Your Journey
You will be working alongside the best. You will play a critical role in driving the technical design and implementation of machine learning solutions for healthcare and life sciences. You will work closely with our excellent team who have worked for over a decade implementing machine learning for real-world applications, turning research into commercial reality.
You will have a large impact on the technical design, architecture, refinement and automation of machine learning approaches in healthcare. You will also have a key role in driving the development of technical tools to expose the mined information, taking advantage of the latest technologies available. You will:
Drive the technical automation and optimisation of the machine learning pipeline of the different products and for different clients.
Automation and implementation of ML pipelines using both structured and unstructured data sets to generate insights for commercial, medical and market access teams within the life science sector
Conduct end-to-end analyses, including data gathering, requirement specification, processing, modelling, and ongoing deliverables
Build and prototype ML pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale
Implement testing frameworks of deployed products including testing for AI bias, transparency and reliability
Join a highly-skilled international team, with diverse backgrounds and a gender equality policy, based both in Cambridge (UK) and Leiden (NL)
Your Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated data scientist with a strong background in building Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) models, and develop statistical solutions based on OKRA’s proprietary technologies.
You have a strong track record as an experienced ML data scientist to solve complex problems using AI
Proficiency with Python programming and ML frameworks
Familiarity with Agile way of working, JIRA, NLP libraries and AWS is a plus
You have great attention to detail, an analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
You are courageous, determined and competent in delivering ML solutions in a fast-paced environment – assuming it is always going to be tough
You are passionate about solving real-world healthcare and life sciences problems with machine learning
You are transparent, a straight talker and respectfully blunt
You are able to right a wrong decision, give credit to others and extend trust to your colleagues
Clear oral and written communication
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s or Doctorate’s degree in quantitative disciplines
Academic or industry work experience as a senior data scientist
Applied experience with designing and building machine learning models on noisy and unstructured data
Ability to support and mentor more junior colleagues in the team
